The Company
MesoScribe Technologies, Inc. began operations in 2002 after spinning off from Stony Brook University. The Company is the sole commercialization lead for the Mesoplasma™ Direct Write process originally developed under the DARPA MICE (Mesoscopic Integrated Conformal Electronics) Program.
MesoScribe Technologies leased space at the Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI) from 2002-2008 and has since established two new locations: a 7,500 sq-ft. facility in St. James, NY housing our Corporate Headquarters and East Coast Development Center, and a 6,000 sq-ft. Direct Write Manufacturing Facility in Huntington Beach, CA. The Company’s principal competitive advantage is our ability to deposit precise patterns onto conformal surfaces cost-effectively, producing electronics that perform durably in demanding environments.
MesoScribe specializes in manufacturing harsh environment sensors and structurally integrated electronics using its proprietary Mesoplasma™ Direct Write (DW) Technology. Direct Write devices are robust and reliable, and process automation enables high-precision manufacturing and high throughput production for cost-effective implementation. MesoScribe’s present focus is producing sensors and prototype devices for:
- Validation at the component-level in relevant configurations and operational environments.
- Extreme environment diagnostics where accurate measurements are often elusive
- Conformal and integrated antennas for advanced communications
MesoScribe also provides Contract Research & Development services for government agencies, defense laboratories, and industry partners, emphasizing application development for Direct Write technology, which received a 2007 R&D100 Award as one of the top high technology products of the year. Offering unique advantages for sensor fabrication and electronics integration, Direct Write is a platform suited for extreme environment diagnostics, health management and prognosis, wiring and infrastructure, and integrated antenna solutions. Direct Write features and their benefits to such applications are summarized below.
| Direct Write Features | Benefit to End Users |
|---|---|
| Automated process control |
|
| High throughput manufacturing | |
| Materials versatility (conductors & insulators) | |
| Low-profile features | |
| Conformal deposition | |
| No post-processing or curing required |
Our longer term goal is to manufacture sensor products and other Direct Write devices (e.g. antennas, signal routing networks, etc.) in production quantities for critical applications requiring integrated sensing or communications. Production at MesoScribe’s Manufacturing Center in Huntington Beach, CA and will be scaled-up through Direct Write technology licensing to OEM partners and Overhaul & Repair shops, advancing cost-effective adaptation and industrial acceptance for defense and commercial aerospace applications.
