Application Areas

MesoScribe has matured the Direct Write process into a platform for manufacturing structurally-integrated electronics for advanced sensing and communications.  Direct Write devices are conformal, robust, embedded, repeatable and cost-effective− which are advantages in harsh operating environments (e.g. high temperature diagnostics) and in advanced composite systems (e.g. embedded state sensing, structurally integrated antennas).  The aerospace industry has served as both a technology driver and an early adopter of Direct Write, with applications from UAVs to large commercial aircraft.  Other markets are being explored for transition opportunities, broadly segmented into: sustainable and renewable energy; industrial processes; rotorcraft; automotive; and test systems.

Multifunctional Structures

MesoScribe’s Direct Write sensors can be integrated within structures to augment their capabilities and improve performance.

Multifunctional Structures

Integrated Wiring

Direct Write can deposit low-profile conductors and dielectrics over large areas, and embed signal and power networks within complex composite layups.

Conformal and Integrated Antennas

Using Direct Write, conventional antenna structures can be replaced with conformal antenna patterns deposited onto, or embedded within composite aerodynamic surfaces.
