Integrated Heaters
Direct Write heaters are highly versatile and tailored by application. Heater elements can be seamlessly integrated onto new and existing components.
Key Features
- Heater arrays can be designed to meet specific application requirements (e.g. pattern configuration, temperature, power, etc.)
- Patterns can be fabricated conformally onto contoured surfaces
- Elements can be encapsulated within functional coatings
- Heaters can be embedded within composite structures and actively controlled to prevent overheating
- Integrated temperature sensors (also Direct Write deposited) or more advanced heater materials can enable closed-loop, active control for heat-sensitive substrates
Resistive heater patterns can be deposited conformally onto contoured surfaces and complex geometry components for non-intrusive implementation. Semi-conducting oxides can also be selected as the active heating elements for multifunctional sensing and heating capabilities. Devices can be fabricated on ceramic bases or dielectric coatings for high power applications, or on heat-sensitive polymer films for low power, low temperature usage. Direct Write heater implementation is quite flexible, offering customization on an application basis and deposition over large areas in open and closed loop control configurations.
