Precision Coatings

Metallic and ceramic coatings can be selectively deposited onto prescribed areas of a component surface without masking or post-process patterning using Direct Write technology.  Precision deposition is particularly advantageous for small parts requiring high performance coatings, and offers benefits for a range of applications, including antenna ground planes, electrical shielding, environmental barriers, and thermal management.

As with Direct Write device fabrication, precision coating deposition uses MesoPlasma™ processing, which meets AS9003 quality assurance standards.  Process automation provides 20µm tool path repeatability, with 6-axis robotic control enabling CAD-driven deposition.  Materials can be alternated to produce multilayer coatings with graded properties.  Dielectric coatings can be selectively patterned to fabricate complex sensors and antenna structures. This versatile process can be used for any application requiring precise thick-film coating deposition.
